Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes 1) Performing investigative research to resolve criminal activity; 2) Conducting law enforcement training on a regular and reoccurring basis; and 3) Providing first aid assistance in accident cases or other emergency situations.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to pass a physical agility test (PAT) annually. You must undergo initial and periodic medical evaluations to assess your ability to take the PAT.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential . In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and maintain a high standard of appearance and hygiene.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear the prescribed uniform and/or personal protective equipment while on duty.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires persons to carry a firearm, which requires initial and periodic qualification and meet the requirements under 18 USC 922(g)(9) of The Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position requires submission to a random urinalysis drug screening as well as pre-employment.
- This position requires that the incumbent either has graduated or will graduate with 1 year from Entrance on Duty date, from an U. S. Army USAMPS or receive an initial training waiver or be excepted per para 4-4 of the Army Regulation 190-56
- This position is covered by the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW AR 190-56 and has been designated by Department of Army as critical to the national or internal security. Personnel must meet the standards for the IRP.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position has annual training and re-certification requirements.
- This position requires successful completion of a Weapons Qualification training prescribed by policy, regulations or statues.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
Conditions of Employment Continued:
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to wear chemical-protection equipment.
