The General Maintenance Technician will deliver technical and professional services to the client as part of professional services to the client as part of Facilities Operations and Maintenance program.
Responsibilities
- Moves furniture and office equipment as necessary and performs all office handy person duties (i.e., hanging pictures and bulletin boards, performing small repairs, etc.).
- Assists during facility reallocations and coordinated maintenance management support requirements.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
- Works under general supervision.
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment requiring practical skills and knowledge in such trades as Painting, Carpentry, and general assembly.
- Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls.
- Paint walls, doors, structures and equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations.
- Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Highschool Graduate or equivalent
- Have a valid VA state driver's license.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and have working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.
- General knowledge of all maintenance and construction trades.
- Must be able to climb ladders scaffolds and walkways.
- Three Years similar experience.
