Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate the
compliance-focused cloud infrastructure supporting our industry-disrupting analytics platforms.
This individual will be responsible for the deployment, uptime, scalability, and security of our
core cloud services, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and
supporting FedRAMP requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong senior engineer who combines deep hands-on experience in
cloud platform engineering and DevOps with experience working in regulated cloud
environments. This role requires someone who can collaborate cross-functionally with security
and compliance stakeholders and drive technical maturity across infrastructure, automation,
observability, reliability, and governance. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who
thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and wants to shape our technical architecture,
operational practices, and future roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud platform infrastructure for reliability, scalability,
security, and performance of core analytics platforms.
• Own the architecture, operation, and continuous improvement of Google Cloud Platform
(GCP) environments supporting production and regulated workloads.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of technical controls required for
FedRAMP compliance.
• Support efforts to prepare applications and environments for FedRAMP assessment,
authorization, and ongoing compliance sustainment.
• Ensure platform availability and performance meet or exceed defined SLAs.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, runbook development, and
operational follow-through to improve reliability over time.
• Expand platform automation to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support
scaling across environments.
• Build and mature observability practices to detect incidents as early as possible and
improve mean time to resolution.
• Partner with engineering, security, product, and leadership stakeholders to review
environments regularly and identify cloud cost optimization opportunities.
• Design and operate secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Implement and maintain cloud networking, access controls, and security architecture
across VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and VPN configurations.
• Support deployment patterns involving microservices, containers, serverless
infrastructure, and orchestration platforms.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for architecture, processes, controls, and
operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to support CI Polygraph processing.
• 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud
Platform Engineering, or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• Proven experience building and managing cloud infrastructure with a focus on
scalability, security, resiliency, and high uptime.
• Experience supporting applications through the FedRAMP process or in FedRAMP-
authorized environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience with DevOps methodologies and building robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus,
ELK, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or similar tools.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, serverless infrastructure, and
orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud Run.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and access management, including
VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Bash, Go, and/or Python.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across distributed teams and time zones with
strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Houston, TX-based or willing to relocate.
• Experience implementing ITAR technical controls in cloud environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with GCP services such as Google Compute Engine (GCE),
Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery.
• Experience with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with ISO 27001.
• Familiarity with or experience supporting CMMC Level 2 environments.
• Prior experience working in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps teams in regulated or
national security environments.
