Duties
As a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-11, you will develop, implement and evaluate the personnel and administrative policies for the Brigade/Group/Troop Command. Serve as the primary advisor for the command in the areas of personnel, legal, and medical operations. Provides oversight for and consolidates unit level feeder reports. Analyze and/or prepares the personnel reporting areas of the Brigade/Group/Troop Command level organizational readiness report. Review legal documentation and provides recommendations for appropriate actions and/or forwarding to higher headquarters. Develop command level guidance and oversees the implementation of the enlisted promotion management system. Ensure timely completion of military personnel evaluation reports. Provides assistance and guidance in the preparation of officer promotion packets for required board actions. Responsible for planning and coordinating health service support (i.e. annual medical certification, vaccinations, physicals, profiles, medical review boards, etc) for the command. Execute command level inspections in the area of personnel and administration. Plan for the establishment and operation of the Administrative and Logistics Operations Center. Develop and implement tactical standing operating procedures for personnel and medical operations. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Must possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors, this includes military and civilian experiences, completed education, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments:
*Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately;
* Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication;
* Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats;
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
* Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings;
* Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and,
* Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower level, in human resources programs, such as federal civilian, military, or National Guard with knowledge of a wide range of military human resource management concepts, regulations, policies, procedures, analytical methods, and techniques sufficient to provide comprehensive guidance to the command and staff within a Brigade/Group/Troop Command and making day-to-day decisions for the commander in the area of personnel assignments.
Supervisory Specialized Experience: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel and task management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is mostly sedentary. No special physical demands are involved. There may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The employee works in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment and observes normal safety precautions.

- KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
