Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer to help design, build, and evolve a Kubernetes-based container orchestration platform that supports secure, scalable, and automated workload deployment.
This role spans the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to deployment and operations—with a strong emphasis on platform engineering, automation, and secure multi-tenant infrastructure. The ideal candidate enjoys working close to the infrastructure layer and building reusable, production-grade platform capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design and develop new platform capabilities on Kubernetes, including orchestration workflows, deployment automation, and operational tooling
Build and maintain reusable deployment templates using Helm (or Kustomize) to support consistent and compliant application deployments
Implement Kubernetes security controls including RBAC policies, role bindings, and least-privilege access models
Design and manage namespace-based workload isolation to support multi-tenancy, compliance, and operational boundaries
Develop and integrate CI/CD pipelines that support automated build, test, deploy, and rollback workflows (including GitOps and progressive delivery patterns)
Instrument workloads with metrics, health checks, and observability standards to support monitoring and SLO adherence
Collaborate with security, networking, cloud, and application teams to ensure platform requirements align with mission and operational needs
Document platform architecture, deployment patterns, runbooks, and operational guardrails to enable consistency and self-service usage
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Full lifecycle experience delivering software or platform capabilities on Kubernetes (design, build, test, deploy, operate)
Experience building and maintaining Helm charts or Kustomize-based deployments
Strong understanding of Kubernetes RBAC (roles, role bindings, and policy enforcement)
Experience using namespaces for workload isolation and multi-tenancy support
Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines integrated with Kubernetes environments
Experience with automated deployment strategies such as GitOps or progressive delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing Kubernetes controllers or operators
Experience with admission controllers or webhooks (mutating/validating) for policy enforcement and standardization
Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio (mTLS, traffic management, policy enforcement)
Experience implementing Kubernetes network policies (CNI-based zero-trust segmentation)
Experience supporting multi-tenant Kubernetes environments with strong isolation requirements
Experience exposing and collecting workload metrics using Prometheus/OpenMetrics standards
Familiarity with AWS integrations such as IRSA (IAM Roles for Service Accounts)
Experience integrating Kubernetes workloads with cloud-native services and identity systems
What we offer:
Flexible time off
Full medical coverage
401(k) with company match
Referral bonuses
Performance bonuses
Life insurance and disability coverage
Tuition and training reimbursement
