Job Description
The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation's space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space- delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.
Building on The Aerospace Corporation's reputation as a trusted, impartial advisor with integrity and dedication to mission success, the Civil Systems Group (CSG) combines deep technical expertise with market-leading innovation to help our customers solve complex systems engineering and integration challenges. CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within NASA, NOAA, and the NNSA, while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.
In this role, you will be the key Technical Execution Director (Systems Director- Technical Project Management) to the CSG Senior Vice President leveraging your knowledge of the customers, missions, technical expertise, and the Aerospace FFRDC. You will apply your insight to aid the Senior Vice President in their work with senior civil, international, and commercial customers, the Aerospace Board of Trustees, and the Aerospace corporate enterprise. You are responsible for developing technical content for SVP communications with input from the CSG General Managers to include preparing briefings and monthly, and quarterly reports for the corporation and for customers. You will play a leading role crafting the CSG strategy aligned with the corporate strategy. As a key member of the CSG Senior Leadership team, you will be the point person for many CSG Front Office activities while gaining broad exposure to CSG's customers, business practices and Aerospace as a whole. You will also team with the CSG functional organizations, including Development and Program Operations, the Technology Directorate, and Space Enterprise Evolution Directorate.
This is a great growth and learning opportunity - you should expect to come away from the job with a comprehensive understanding of the missions and programs Aerospace supports across the civil space enterprise, as well as understanding how Aerospace operates at the executive level. With the exposure and knowledge gained in this role, you will find this opportunity to be a building block for your next role with insights you will use throughout your career.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Crystal City, VA.
