Job Description
Top Skills' Details
-Design, integrate, and support electrical systems for large industrial X‑ray scanning equipment, including power distribution, control systems, networking, sensors, and OEM hardware.
-Perform sustaining engineering on existing products, addressing obsolescence, field issues, corrective actions, and design updates.
-Support system‑level integration across electrical, mechanical, and software domains, including coordination with third‑party and OEM equipment.
-Contribute to industrial controls and automation, including PLCs, sensors, interlocks, actuators, and gate/lane control systems.
-Troubleshoot systems and hardware down to the board and component level as needed, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
-Produce and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, interface definitions, bills of material, installation documentation, and change records) used for manufacturing, installation, and long‑term sustainment.
-Support production and deployment activities, including factory builds, system bring‑up, testing, and occasional field troubleshooting.
-Collaborate in small engineering teams (often 2–3 engineers per project), with the ability to work independently when required.
-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
We are seeking a hands‑on Electrical Engineer to support the development, enhancement, and sustainment of large‑scale X‑ray inspection and security systems used in industrial and port environments. This role focuses on electrical machinery, system integration, industrial controls, and production‑ready engineering, rather than narrow embedded or RF design.
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, technicians, and scientists to support an existing, field‑deployed product platform that is simultaneously in production and undergoing enhancements. The work spans new feature integration, system upgrades, documentation improvements, and troubleshooting of deployed systems.
This is an onsite role requiring regular interaction with physical equipment, control panels, power systems, networking hardware, and industrial machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience, preferably in industrial, machinery, automation, or complex system environments.
Strong background in electrical machinery design and integration, including AC/DC power, control panels, wiring, connectors, grounding, and protection systems.
Experience working from design through production, including requirements, documentation, prototype builds, testing, and engineering change processes.
Familiarity with industrial controls, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and machine interfaces.
Practical troubleshooting skills using standard electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.).
Ability to work safely around high‑voltage systems, heavy machinery, and industrial environments.
Comfortable operating in cross‑functional teams and handling a wide range of hands‑on engineering tasks.
Helpful (Not Required) Experience
Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, PADS) and PCB fabrication processes; ability to review or make modifications when needed.
Experience with custom circuit boards in support of system functionality (not full‑time embedded or FPGA development).
Exposure to networked systems, control rooms, server racks, or command‑center environments.
Experience supporting field‑deployed systems with long lifecycle documentation and sustainment needs.
Knowledge of X‑ray systems, radiation detection, or imaging technologies.
