Job Title: Chief Architect / PLM Strategist (Air Force Programs)
Location: Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (Hybrid – 2–3 days remote per week)
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
Salary: $225,000 – $235,000
Overview:
We are seeking a Chief Architect / PLM Strategist to serve as a senior technical leader supporting Air Force digital engineering and lifecycle data initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and mission execution, driving how engineering data, digital thread capabilities, and lifecycle systems are integrated across Air Force platforms and programs.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing position where you will work directly with senior Air Force stakeholders, engineering organizations, and acquisition teams to shape the future of digital engineering and data-centric acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead development and evolution of enterprise PLM architecture aligned with Air Force data and digital engineering strategies
• Define and drive PLM strategy to enable digital thread, authoritative data environments, and lifecycle data integration
• Architect scalable, interoperable solutions integrating PLM with enterprise systems and mission platforms
• Translate operational and acquisition requirements into technical roadmaps and solution architectures
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across engineering, acquisition, and sustainment organizations
• Guide data governance, system integration, and open architecture approaches across programs
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies (AI/ML, digital twins, semantic data models) into PLM ecosystem
• Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams
Required Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, PLM, or digital engineering within a defense environment
• Deep understanding of DoD acquisition frameworks and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience with enterprise PLM platforms (Teamcenter preferred)
• Strong background in digital thread, data governance, and lifecycle data environments
• Familiarity with Air Force mission systems and sustainment processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting large-scale Air Force or DoD digital transformation initiatives
• Prior work with AFLCMC, AFNWC, or similar organizations
• Certifications such as CMII, Agile, or Program/Project Management
• Experience with AI/ML, digital twins, or advanced data architecture concepts
Work Environment:
• Hybrid schedule (2–3 days remote per week)
• On-site support required at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
