Senior Data Scientist (10+ yrs experience) - NGA Springfield, VA
Salary Range: $155-165k

Must Haves:
Education/Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Management, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Cartography, Geospatial Sciences, Physical Sciences, or bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics.

Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in Education above. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics, plus experience that involves management of data within databases, or in a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.

Demonstrated understanding of GIS, data schemas, and the geo-referencing of information.
Knowledge of extraction and metadata specifications.
Knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) architectures, best practices for data normalization, and performance tuning/optimization techniques.
Knowledge of enterprise geodatabases, such as Spatial Database Engines (SDEs).
Knowledge of tools such as the ArcGIS Suite, ArcGIS for Server, Excel, Access, SQL, and Oracle for the storage, organization, and maintenance of spatial data.
Salary Range: $155-165k
