THE OPPORTUNITY
The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) provides expert-level Cybersecurity engineering, security architecture development, and risk management support for complex systems and networks. This position serves as the primary security engineering authority on technical teams, ensuring system designs, implementations, and integrations meet stringent Government security requirements and industry best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Serve as the lead security engineering representative on multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
• Apply expert knowledge of Cybersecurity policies, procedures, and workforce structures to implement secure system and network solutions.
• Engage directly with customers, stakeholders, and technical project teams to gather requirements, resolve security concerns, and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
• Lead the design, development, assessment, and integration of Cybersecurity architectures, system components, and security-enhanced solutions.
• Support Government efforts to enforce secure design principles and implement trusted relationships among interconnected systems and external architectures.
• Conduct and support security planning, security assessments, risk analyses, and ongoing risk management activities.
• Identify comprehensive security requirements for the proper handling, processing, and safeguarding of Government data.
• Develop system or network security designs spanning multiple enclaves, including environments with varying classification levels and data protection requirements.
• Recommend system-level solutions to address identified security requirements and strengthen system security posture.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Twenty (20) years of experience as an ISSE supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
– Must include at least five (5) years of recent experience (within the last five years) applying Cybersecurity principles and technologies such as access control, authentication/authorization, PKI, and enterprise security architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
– A Master’s degree in a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience (reducing the requirement to eighteen (18) years).
– In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional four (4) years of ISSE experience may be substituted (totaling twenty‑four (24) years).
• Compliance with DoD 8570 requirements at IASAE Level III is required.
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) is mandatory. No exceptions and no sponsorship.
