Duties
As an AIRCRAFT PROPELLER MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), WG-8810-11, you will plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by yourself and lower graded mechanic(s); perform the full range of shop work; perform in-process, final inspection, and clear status symbols certifying work performed by others in shop; implement safety regulatory requirements; prepare for, and participate in, various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises; perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft propeller assemblies and their components in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft propellers, assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft propellers, components, for rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.

- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
