Basic Requirements:
- 20 years experience as a system engineer
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- 5 additional years of experience as a system engineer may be substituted for a degree
Job Description:
- Will be an integral member of the DNS, DHCP, IPAM (DDI) Operations Team.
- Responsible for the automation of requirements management, change management, requirements gathering/tracking, and configuration management.
- Projects require automated solutions to effectively manage the requirements, link source documents, and architecture.
- The Systems Engineer shall work with teams to identify, engineer, and implement the most optimum automated solution that follows approved processes for a given project or infrastructure.
- In addition, the Systems Engineer shall work with all other infrastructure support teams as part of a solution to identify, engineer, and implement solutions that integrate with the automation/infrastructure/productivity tools.
- Design and implement secure and scalable DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) solutions using Infoblox DDI.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex DDI issues
- Automate DDI workflows to improve efficiency
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams on all aspects of DDI, including IPv4 and IPv6
- Maintain awareness of the latest Infoblox DDI features and best practices
Required Experience:
- Ability to obtain DOD8570-M, IAT Level 1
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Load Balancing (F5/DTC)
- Familiar with outages, latency issues, & trouble shooting
- Proven experience designing and implementing DDI solutions
- Experience with load balancing technologies
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including IPv4 and IPv6
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with scripting (Perl, Python) and automation tools a plus
Desired Experience:
- DNS experience with an understanding of maintenance of Infoblox
- In-depth knowledge of Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
- Experience applying system engineering methodologies and principles
- Familiar with developing modern business methods, and identifying best practices
- Experienced with executing as key coordinator between multiple project teams
