Job Description

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex located at the Pantex Plant located in Amarillo, Texas.



Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.



Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Responsibilities

Staffing Senior Assistant - Pantex- Amarillo, TX - No travel. Full time / day shift. Will work 9/80 schedule. Work will be onsite at the PAC for first month or two then teleworking 50/50. This position assists with the management of the hiring process.
  • Duties include coordinating candidate interviews, scheduling candidate travel, and the onboarding process.
  • The successful candidate will provide support to the Talent Acquisition Team as needed, including requisition and candidate tracking, new employee orientation, and managing candidate relationships.
  • This role performs a variety of general personnel/clerical tasks and could support areas such as employee records, benefits, staffing, and compensation.
  • An essential responsibility of the role is to maintain accurate employee data in the applicant tracking system and Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP), and employee's official Human Resources (HR) records.
  • The successful candidate will effectively interface with individuals in all levels of the organization and external organizations along with other internal and external clients and customers with a very high level of customer service.
  • This position assists in auditing current policies, procedures, practices, forms, reports and records; and documents specific actions taken.
  • Coordinates the administrative activites of departments within HR to accomplish the organization's mission.
  • Assists in the preparation of manuals and internal operating procedures covering the administration of area of responsibility.
  • The position will be responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Department of Energy (DOE), Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and procedures.
  • The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
  • The successful candidate must function in a highly organized manner with attention to detail.
  • General knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Experience working in Human Resources, with exposure to recruiting and onboarding. Strong organizational and electronic document management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent customer service skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in completing detailed tasks and maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in operating computer-related equipment and associated software, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of scheduling & communication tools such as WebEx, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Experience utilizing Success Factors applicant tracking system and SAP.
  • This is a hybrid position that requires you live within commuting distance from Amarillo, TX.



Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 6 years experience required.
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
  • If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position.
  • WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen - external applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
  • Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
