Job Description

Duties

  • In coordination with the Historic Material Division implements various protection measures for unique, one-of-a-kind artifacts related to Army history at all AME facilities.
  • Work with local garrisons and leadership to secure additional funding from adjacent commands to improve facilities.
  • Serve as lead for Army Museum Emergency Response Team (AMERT) for emergency response.
  • Review museum emergency response plans for facilities and security considerations.
  • Perform Anti-Terrorism, Operational Security (OPSEC), or Physical Security responsibilities with need to secure Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Personnel Security Investigation Portal (PSIP) accounts within first year in position.
  • Oversee and ensures that the need for local purchase for facility support items, grounds maintenance (i.e., snow removal, lawn mowing) and custodial services have been identified and initiated.
  • Develop, implements, and oversees the plans and programs for overall building(s) modernization, repairs, safety, physical security, key control, access, fire protection, and facility evacuation in accordance with regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct facility staff assisted visits and inspections with regards to safety, physical security and facility maintenance at AME facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to engineering, budgetary, operations, administrative and museum personnel relative to facilities management.
  • Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for facilities and construction related contracts.

  • TDY of 25% may be required for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) coordinating complex building maintenance and construction projects; 2.) overseeing facility management service contracts and financial programs; 3.) monitoring facility operating systems including emergency generators, air handling units, motor control centers, and uninterruptible power supply systems; 4.) inspecting facilities for maintenance, repair, safety and security vulnerabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). To be referred, applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
