Candidates must already possess an active Top Secret/SCI w/ CI Polygraph (Springfield VA Customer) to be considered.
Summary:
• Manage and optimize advanced PostgreSQL and Aurora Postgres database environments, including PostGIS for geospatial workloads.
• Design and implement robust database solutions, including Row Level Security (RLS) and spatial schemas.
• Oversee database operations, focusing on backup, recovery, scaling, and overall system health.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions using a cloud-first approach, leveraging AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code.
• Engineer complex ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing a suite of AWS services, supporting data lakes, data warehousing, real-time processing, and streaming architectures.
Qualifications & Compensation:
• Degree: Technical bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Years of experience: 3+ years
• Salary: $376k+ yearly compensation
Job Description:
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL and Aurora Postgres databases, including PostGIS extensions.
• Develop and enforce robust security measures, including Row Level Security (RLS), and design efficient spatial database schemas.
• Oversee all aspects of database operations, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and scaling strategies.
• Utilize AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources.
• Apply advanced Python development skills to build and automate database and cloud solutions.
• Engineer and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using various AWS services to support data lakes and data warehousing initiatives.
• Implement real-time data processing and streaming analytics architectures.
• Work with a variety of AWS cloud-native services such as DynamoDB, Redshift, and Athena.
• Contribute to a cloud-first development culture, emphasizing DevOps principles and system security best practices.
• Possess strong SQL skills for complex query development and optimization.
• Engage in full-lifecycle software development for data-intensive applications.
