Responsibilities
- Installs, tests, troubleshoots, programs, maintains, and repairs digital switching equipment attendant consoles, power and ringing relay racks, miscellaneous telephone, radio, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and computer data circuits and related apparatus required in the central switching office.
- Analyzes system failures and other unusual system occurrences to isolate the source of the problem and determine whether the failure is caused by software, hardware, or other factors.
- Maintain manual and/or computerized central office records, including detail records, traffic analysis records, cable records, line records, subscriber service records, and spare parts inventories.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Active unexpired certification as per DoD 8570.01-M guidelines is required i.e. ONE of the following is required: CompTIA Security+CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP,
GSEC, or SSCP) at time of hire or within 60 days of hire date. - Proven experience as an Outside Plant Technician (OSP) or similar role in telecommunications.
- Familiarity with telecommunications systems, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license is required as driving is required from one base to the other.
