Job Description

SABG is hiring a Technical Capabilities Subject Matter Expert II to support highly technical
mission engineering, advanced technology development, and science & technology integration
efforts with the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering
(USW(R&E)) in Arlington, Virginia.
This role supports the Department of War’s efforts to maintain technological superiority by
accelerating innovation, integrating science and technology, and rapidly developing and fielding
advanced warfighting capabilities. The position contributes to addressing complex operational
challenges through mission engineering, prototyping, experimentation, and data-driven analysis
in support of national security priorities.

JOB TITLE: Technical Capabilities Subject Matter Expert II
CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI security clearance
LOCATION: Arlington, Virginia
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be

Technical Leadership & Oversight:

• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for complex technology design, manufacturing,
integration, and testing programs.

• Lead enterprise-level technology portfolios valued at over $100M, ensuring alignment with
DoW modernization goals.
• Manage technical teams in a classified environment, maintaining operational security and
mission focus.
APNT & Emerging Capabilities:

• Oversee technical requirements and assessments for new and emerging capabilities focused
on Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
• Apply military tactics and technical methods to protect PNT data in contested environments.

• Integrate C5ISRT capabilities to support high-stakes military operations.

Lifecycle & Process Management:

• Execute and manage activities throughout the DoD 5000 series acquisition lifecycle.

• Drive innovation using Agile Development processes to ensure rapid prototyping and
deployment.

• Establish and maintain formal risk management processes for technology development
programs.
,SUPERVISION: This position may require supervisory responsibilities.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Scientific, or a technical discipline related to PNT and/or
C5ISRT.
• 8+ years of experience in SCI environments or higher.
• 10+ years of experience as a Chief System Engineer (CSE) or Deputy CSE for a major
technology program or portfolio valued at over $100M.
• 8+ years of experience in a leadership capacity on classified programs.
• 8+ years of experience in military tactics and technical methods for the control and protection
of PNT data.
• 5+ years of experience overseeing technical requirements and assessments for emerging
capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience with the DoD 5000 series acquisition lifecycle.
• 5+ years of experience utilizing Agile Development methodologies.
• 5+ years of experience managing formal risk management processes for development
programs.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Military or DoW experience.
• 8+ years of experience with systems that integrate and analyze data from multiple sources
and countering these systems.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
• Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing,
spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios,
and proportions to practical situations.



REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound
business decisions based on that data.
