Systems Engineer (SME)
McLean, VA
Requires an Active TS/SCI & FS Poly ***3 Point SCRUB
Required Skills/Experience:
− Engineering degree (preferably Electrical) with 7–20 years of experience.
− Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering across the full lifecycle of complex hardware and software
developments.
− Proven experience developing requirements, engaging third-party vendors, supporting contracting
processes, and managing formal program reviews.
− Strong background in technical documentation and use of customer documentation systems, with the
ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
− Hands-on experience in technical validation and testing, including test plan development, coordination,
troubleshooting, reporting, and navigating customer approval processes for deployment.
− Experience identifying and implementing innovative technical solutions under both short and intermediate
timelines.
− Technical background with applied knowledge of RF systems, network infrastructure, communication
protocols, quality standards, and manufacturing.
− Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%) to support system development and
deployment.
Technical Requirements:
− Support customer's technical staff to broaden technical capabilities through 3rd party contracts and
internal partnerships.
− Draft documentation and support the contracting process through SSJ, SOW, requirements, etc. products.
− Foster communication between partners to ensure high quality products are delivered on-time and on-
budget.
− Develop expertise in special areas and serve as a technical SME on designated topics.
− Secure approvals and conduct field tests of systems under development.
− Contribute to the approval process for the deployment of technical systems as technical SME.
− Coordinate stakeholder engagements, such as user requirements sessions.
− Lead technical efforts that support the O&M of deployed systems.
