Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes1.Managing aircraft/helicopter maintenance shop processes, maintenance flow charts, maintenance budgets for the flying hours program (FHP) and Class IX aircraft parts. 2. On a monthly and quarterly basis, brief senior unit commanders on aircraft maintenance operational readiness rates (ORR) and the annual maintenance budget spend plan. 3. Forecast and plan future maintenance budget costs to keep the aircraft fleet flying and on budget. Oversee and manage maintenance production control meetings to ensure aircraft phased maintenance and unscheduled maintenance is accomplished in a timely manner. 4.Oversee and management maintenance shops safety for personnel and equipment.

- Formulate policies to direct and control the general operations of the office.
- Plan and assign work to Aviation Maintenance Directorate team members who guide and control work.
- Establish responsibilities and set expectations; and controls and manages assigned budget and schedule
- Direct the full lifecycle of assigned systems, including development, acquisition, testing, product improvement, and fielding.
- Ensure programs are integrated and effectively implemented.
- Perform planning by analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current and long-range plans for accomplishment of assigned functions.
- Hold depot maintenance management responsibility for aircraft refurbishment, maintenance, and modification programs.
Conditions of employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- Incumbent may be required to travel worldwide, often within 24 hours notice.
- A physical may be required specifically to participate in developmental or operational flight test as directed.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
