Senior Software Engineer (Systems & Reliability)
Engineer Level - Cleared Opportunity (TS/SCI)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for systems architecture and operational excellence to join a team delivering high impact, mission critical projects across the Federal Government.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, national security, and modern software engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring that complex AI systems are not only built well, but are scalable, resilient, and highly available in the most demanding secure environments.
What You’ll Do
- Architect for Resilience: Lead the design of cloud native infrastructure and backend systems, focusing on fault tolerance, self healing, and high availability.
- Automate Everything: Develop software, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines to automate manual operational tasks and streamline the deployment of data intensive applications.
- Optimize Performance: Analyze system bottlenecks and lead "blameless" retrospectives to improve the reliability and latency of mission critical services.
- Build Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure deep visibility into system health and AI model performance.
- Bridge the Gap: Work alongside developers to ensure new features meet rigorous "production ready" standards for security and scalability.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor the team on modern engineering practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and proactive risk mitigation.

- Senior Engineer (9–13+ years): You have a proven track record of managing production grade software throughout its entire lifecycle.
- Systems Thinker: You don't just write code; you understand how that code interacts with the underlying network, storage, and compute layers.
- Problem Solver: You thrive on diagnosing complex distributed systems failures and building permanent software-based solutions to prevent them.
Required Experience
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep expertise in cloud native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with a focus on Infrastructure as Code.
- Orchestration & Tooling: Expertise in Kubernetes (K8s), specifically managing clusters, ingress, and service meshes in secure environments.
- Reliability Engineering: Experience with monitoring and observability suites (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog).
- Software Development: Proficiency in Go or Python for building backend services and automation tooling.
- Data Systems: Experience maintaining the reliability of large-scale data pipelines (ETL) and distributed databases.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Compensation will be commiserate with experience
Preferred
- Prior experience working within IC or DoD environments
- Familiarity with deploying and scaling machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and managing the reliability of inference endpoints.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and NIST/FedRAMP compliance standards.
- Ability to iterate quickly and pivot based on evolving mission requirements.
