Clearance: Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain & maintain CI Polygraph

ClearanceJobs is supporting a Government Contracting client on a mission‑critical DTRA program focused on the technical characterization of underground and hardened facilities associated with weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

This role supports analytical modeling, structural characterization, and technical assessment of facilities using indirect and remote data sources. The work directly informs national‑level threat assessments and strategic decision‑making.

This position is best suited for mid‑to‑senior level professionals with experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community technical programs related to underground structures, physical infrastructure, or denied facilities analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Underground Facility Characterization & Analysis

Perform applied geoscience and structural analysis to characterize underground, tunneled, or hardened facilities
Assess facility layout, construction methods, structural integrity, and functional purpose using indirect or limited data
Support modeling of subsurface environments and geologic conditions impacting facility design and survivability
Apply reverse‑engineering techniques to infer construction methods and supporting infrastructure

Technical Modeling & Engineering Support

Conduct load calculations, system sizing, and performance assessments related to underground structures
Develop technical models, analyses, and visual aids to support assessments
Produce clear, defensible technical documentation and analytical reports

Program & Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with government scientists, analysts, and other contractors
Brief analysis results to both technical and non‑technical government stakeholders
Support iterative analysis as mission requirements evolve

Senior-Level Contributions (as appropriate)

Provide technical mentorship to junior analysts or scientists
Contribute to methodology development and analytic tradecraft improvement
Support proposal or white‑paper efforts related to ongoing technical work (limited and mission‑focused)


Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a closely related field
Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph
5+ years of experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community technical programs
Hands‑on experience analyzing underground, hardened, or complex physical facilities
Strong background in applied geoscience, structural analysis, or physical infrastructure assessment
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical findings to senior government customers
Strong technical writing skills with experience producing analytic reports


Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Experience:
Experience supporting DTRA, DIA, NGA, DoE, or IC WMD missions
Background in tunnel construction, mining engineering, underground military facilities, or subterranean infrastructure
Experience working with denied or restricted data environments
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field
Prior work supporting facility vulnerability, survivability, or infrastructure exploitation analysis
