Job Description

DevSecOps Engineer

Location: Onsite | Bolling, AFB
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required (Polygraph eligible)
Employment Type: Full-time, salaried, with full benefits

The Company & Mission:

Join a mission-driven defense technology company building next-generation software systems that power U.S. Navy platforms, including combat systems aboard nuclear submarines.

This team operates at the intersection of advanced sensing, AI/ML, and secure cloud infrastructure, working directly with real-world SONAR and sensor data in classified environments. Engineers have direct ownership over systems that are deployed in mission-critical settings supporting national security operations.

Our Client builds sonobuoy sensors deployed into maritime environments to collect edge data and partners closely with the U.S. Navy to process and operationalize SONAR data. This is an opportunity to work on real-world systems that directly impact warfighter capabilities and mission success.

What This Role is All About:

This role is focused on designing and operating secure DevSecOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure within classified IC cloud environments (MSIC Cloud, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).

You will be responsible for embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle while enabling rapid, reliable deployment of AI/ML systems in mission-critical environments. This includes building secure CI/CD pipelines, implementing infrastructure as code, enforcing compliance standards, and supporting ATO processes.

This is a highly hands-on role that sits at the intersection of DevOps, security engineering, and cloud infrastructure — ideal for engineers who enjoy working in secure environments and owning systems end-to-end

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML applications in classified cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
• Integrate automated security testing and compliance checks (SAST, DAST, SCA) across the software delivery lifecycle
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) for secure cloud deployments
• Ensure cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes) meet STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and IC security requirements
• Collaborate with ISSOs and ISSMs to support ATO processes, RMF alignment, and continuous monitoring
• Develop automated compliance monitoring, logging, and alerting across AWS and Azure environments
• Implement best practices for container security, secrets management, and identity/access management (IAM)
• Support deployment and optimization of AI/ML workloads in classified cloud environments
• Maintain DevSecOps documentation, runbooks, and system architecture diagrams
• Evaluate and integrate new security tools and DevSecOps practices relevant to IC mission environments

What You Bring:

• 7–10+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or related field
• Active TS/SCI clearance (ability to obtain Polygraph)
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government environments
• Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Bicep)
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks, STIGs, and compliance (FedRAMP, IL4/5/6)
• Experience supporting RMF / ATO processes in classified environments
• Familiarity with IC or DoD cloud security requirements and authorization processes
• Security certification (CISSP, Security+, or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification)

Bonus Points:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, or Azure DevOps Engineer certification
• Experience working within MSIC Cloud environments
• Experience deploying and securing AI/ML workloads
• Prior Intelligence Community or military experience

Benefits:

• Equity participation
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
• Paid parental leave
• Paid holidays
• Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
• Short- and long-term disability coverage
