AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next Systems Support Specialist III personnel!!!
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking Systems Support Specialist personnel (Specialist and Lead roles), staffed by ASC, to support the NISSC 3 program at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. These positions deliver technical and operational support for multiple mission systems by providing onsite and oncall coverage for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment. The Systems Support Specialists will help ensure operational readiness, data integrity, and effective coordination with program leadership and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Deliver onsite and on call technical and operational support for mission systems at Offutt AFB, including system administration, monitoring, and health checks.
• Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions for hardware, software, network, and system performance issues impacting mission operations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, configuration changes, and performance tuning.
• Provide firstline user support and training for system access, basic operations, and issue resolution.
• Collect, maintain, and update operational logs, incident and deficiency reports, and checklists in accordance with program and security standards.
• Perform incident response, including initial triage, escalation, coordination with highertier support, and closure documentation.
• Execute backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity, availability, and continuity of operations.
• Support system administration and database support activities as needed to maintain operational environments.
• Oversee procedural compliance and ensure all records, logs, and reports meet required operational, security, and audit standards.
• Act as a technical resource for performance optimization, data integrity, continuity of operations, and support of management status reporting.
• For Lead roles, direct daytoday task execution, assist with resource allocation, monitor progress and quality of work, and mentor junior personnel.
Qualifications
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, mission critical (DoD or similar) environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities in directing project/task execution across domains such as maintenance, integration, and data management.
• Experience in resource allocation, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables to drive task success.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and provide precise, timely status updates to management and stakeholders.
• Experience managing schedules and aligning tasks with program objectives to support integrated operations across functional domains.
• Strong documentation skills for logs, incident reports, configuration records, and technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field,
OR Equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
• Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred:
- Cloud+
- GSEC
- Security+
- SSCP
