Job Description

The Reserve Corps Subject Matter Expert role is an as-needed position within NNSA's NA-84 Office of Nuclear Incident Response. This role serves to support the RC team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Candidate will provide SME level support to continue benefiting the NEST mission.
  • Provides expert consulting, analysis, and support to the Government client(s) on critical complex issues.
  • Provide facilitation
  • Works independently and effectively under pressure and in the conduct of demanding assignments.
  • Express ideas well both orally and in writing.
  • Possess extensive expertise in a related area.
  • Have demonstrated ability to independently plan, conduct, and lead groups.
  • Travel may be required on an as-needed basis


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 30+ years' experience in direct counter WMD/Rad/Nuc work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work in an environment that changes rapidly.
  • Must be an independent, self-starter with excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task and be comfortable working with a team of technical experts in varying fields of security and emergency operations disciplines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic environment.
  • DOE site access will require the qualified candidate to be a U.S. citizen and have a current DOE Q security clearance.
  • Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances may be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites; the candidate's written consent to conduct such tests may be required as a condition of employment.
  • Able to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment.
  • Able to work after hours when required during exercises.


LOCATION: This position is remote

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate's related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
