Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Cyber SME to support a non-personal services contract providing Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Engineering and Technical Support (RETS) to the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (USW(R&E)). In this role, the selected candidate will contribute to advancing the Department of War's research, engineering, and technology innovation priorities by supporting key initiatives across science and technology, mission capabilities, and commercial technology integration. This effort supports senior leadership in driving cutting-edge research, prototyping, experimentation, and technology transition to maintain a strategic advantage for the joint force.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support cyber engineering and cyberspace test and evaluation efforts across complex technology programs.
  • Plan and execute project management activities to ensure successful delivery of cyber-focused initiatives.
  • Conduct analysis, assessment, demonstration, testing, and experimentation of offensive and defensive cyber capabilities.
  • Contribute to the research, development, integration, and testing of innovative cyber technologies.
  • Evaluate and validate sensor system performance, effectiveness, and operational feasibility.
  • Develop and recommend assessment methodologies to identify system performance gaps and associated risks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DoD directives and instructions, including certification and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related science or engineering field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of technical experience in cyber engineering and cyberspace test and evaluation.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in project management.
  • Ten (10) years of experience supporting analysis, assessment, demonstration, testing, and/or experimentation of cyber capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the research, development, integration, and testing of both offensive and defensive cyber technologies.
  • Ten (10) years of experience evaluating and validating sensor system performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Must meet certification requirements in accordance with applicable DoD Directives and Instructions.
  • Possession of one or more relevant industry certifications, such as:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
    • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
    • Global Information Assurance Certifications (GIAC)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
