The Opportunity
The System Engineer Level 2 supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of both on premises and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role involves systems engineering across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, documentation, and collaboration with government stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Manage and maintain on premises and AWS cloud environments.
• Administer Linux (Amazon Linux 2023, RHEL 8/9) and Windows Server 2016/2022 systems.
• Support Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy operations.
• Develop automation using Salt, Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Analyze requirements and contribute to system architecture, design, and documentation.
• Participate in integration, verification, interface definition, and configuration management activities.
• Support CCBs, design reviews, IPTs, and cross team engineering coordination.
• Ensure system designs comply with DoDAF, SOA, IA principles, and DoD standards.
• Assist with risk assessments, lifecycle planning, and system baseline management.
• Contribute to IA requirements, certification/accreditation activities, and system performance analyses.
What You’ll Bring
• Fourteen years of systems engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field
– or five additional years of SE experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience developing SE documentation (SEPs, ICDs, requirements specs).
• Knowledge of DoDAF, SOA, IA mechanisms, and DoD engineering processes.
• Experience with system lifecycle activities including requirements derivation, functional allocation, testing, and interface management.
• HUBZone residency preferred (check eligibility: https://maps.certify.sba.gov/)
