Job Description

The Opportunity

The System Engineer Level 3 provides senior level technical leadership in the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of cloud and on premise systems. This role combines advanced cloud administration, systems engineering, requirements analysis, and enterprise architecture expertise to support complex, mission critical environments.


What You’ll Do

• Administer and support Windows Server 2022, Windows 10/11, and Linux systems in both on premise and cloud environments.
• Design, deploy, secure, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Route 53, AMIs, and Workspaces.
• Ensure operational stability of SaltStack automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead requirements analysis, system design, documentation, and integration across the full system lifecycle.
• Develop system architectures, interface definitions, and engineering documentation (SEPs, ICDs, requirements specs).
• Provide technical leadership for design reviews, feasibility studies, verification planning, and integration/test activities.
• Maintain the technical integrity of system baselines, ensuring traceability, configuration control, and compliance with standards including DoDAF and SOA.
• Coordinate cross discipline engineering activities and serve as a key participant in CCBs, IPTs, and stakeholder engagements.
• Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, modeling, and performance analysis to drive system optimization.
• Support DoD certification/accreditation processes and develop Information Assurance requirements and security mechanisms.
• Ensure effective interface management, documentation accuracy, and alignment of system components across teams.


What You’ll Bring

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) (no exceptions/no sponsorship)
• Twenty years of systems engineering experience supporting complex programs of similar scope and scale.
• Demonstrated experience leading systems engineering efforts across requirements, design, integration, and testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field (or five additional years of SE experience).
• Expertise in requirements management, functional allocation, interface control, and lifecycle documentation.
• Strong understanding of DoDAF, SOA, IA principles, security mechanisms, and applicable government standards.
• Experience conducting system trade analyses, modeling/simulation, and risk management.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi team integration efforts and ensure configuration consistency across hardware and software components.
