The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a role ideal for someone who thrives in complex technical environments, enjoys understanding how embedded software and network systems behave under real-world conditions, and excels at designing rigorous test approaches from ambiguous requirements. You will play a key role in evaluating the robustness and correctness of embedded software and network systems-developing custom test tools, characterizing system behavior, and contributing directly to mission-critical integration efforts.
Join a team of test engineers performing integration, requirement, and system test tasks. As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will manage lab environments, stand up new equipment and tools, and configure and integrate systems to meet project needs. You will understand and execute modeling and simulation tools and techniques, develop relationships with customers, and collaboratively identify new approaches to address customer needs. You will serve as a subject matter expert in network technologies and products, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Strategy:
- Create detailed test plans and strategies, including defining test objectives, scope, and acceptance criteria.
- Derive test cases from system and software requirements for embedded and network systems.
- Build and integrate test automation suites to support network reconfiguration, test case execution, logging and analysis, and continuous integration.
Technical Leadership:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned network technologies and embedded systems.
- Lead test efforts end-to-end, owning test strategy from planning through reporting.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide improvements in test processes and tooling.
Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive test documentation including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and meets customer requirements.
Defect Management:
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking systems.
- Work closely with development teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline - or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in software testing, including deriving test plans from requirements, manual and automated test execution, test analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Experience testing embedded software and/or network equipment such as routers, switches, or similar devices
- Understanding of networking concepts including IP networking, switching, routing, and wireless technologies
- Experience with test automation, issue tracking, and other testing tools
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Desired:
- Software development and/or advanced scripting skills to support troubleshooting and test automation development (C/C++, Python, Robot preferred)
- Experience with embedded systems and various real-time operating systems
- Experience leading or owning test strategy for a program or major subsystem
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD
