Overview
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in NSG Data Standards, driving compliance, interoperability, and risk reduction across lifecycle acquisition efforts. Provides technical leadership and advisory support to programs, developers, and standards bodies to ensure effective implementation and evolution of GEOINT data standards.

Provides technical leadership and advisory support to programs, developers, and standards bodies to ensure effective implementation and evolution of GEOINT data standards.
Responsibilities
- Advise NSG programs, projects, and portfolios on data standards related to architecture, interoperability, and compliance
- Provide technical guidance to developers to support compliant and effective implementation of NSG data standards
- Support standards developers in creating data standards that are implementable, testable, and interoperable
- Engage with industry and international standards organizations to influence alignment with NSG requirements
- Serve as a data standards SME within Agile development teams
- Assist Program Management Offices in developing compliance testing strategies
- Provide technical expertise to portfolio initiatives on applying data standards to achieve mission objectives
- Monitor and report on activities within international standards bodies that may impact NSG
- Serve as a resource on the correct and effective use of data standards
- Analyze GEOINT data flow architectures (sensor to user to archive) and recommend standards-based solutions to enhance interoperability
- Identify gaps in GEOINT standards and lead development efforts for emerging data types (e.g., LiDAR, hyperspectral imagery, EO/IR)
- Conduct expert reviews of JCIDS documentation and provide standards-based recommendations
- Support engagement with Combatant Commands (COCOMs), system developers, program offices, and acquisition stakeholders
- Contribute to data production and R&D initiatives aligned with service and COCOM acquisition needs
- Identify new GEOINT data sources for integration into the NSG
- Advocate for GEOINT-enabling capabilities and enterprise-wide interoperability
- Participate in IC and DoD demonstrations and test events; analyze results to improve system interoperability
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with DoD and/or Intelligence Community (IC) requirements and acquisition processes
- Master's degree in Engineering Management or a related field
- TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of GEOINT standards conformance, implementation, and testing
- Experience with XSLT, JSON, JSON Schema, and IDEF-1X
- Experience working with international standards development organizations
- Expertise in:
- Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- XML and XML Schema
- Familiarity with:
- NSG Application Schema (NAS)
- NSG Metadata Foundation (NMF)
- National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF)
- Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB) standards
- Defense Discovery Metadata System (DDMS)
- Information Resource Metadata (IRM.XML)
- Discovery and Retrieval Interface Data Model (D&R IDM)
