LOCATION : KEMTF, Test Site C74, Eglin AFB, FL- On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions may include direct mission support, controlling range test areas and/or repairs to targets, involving replacement of cross-members, bolts, and other target hardware. Job functions may also involve working in extreme weather conditions or at heights for extended periods. May be required to work in direct contact with test personnel. May be required to operate industrial support equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, bulldozer, excavators, and other small equipment. Requires the ability to utilize a laser level and grade rod to set accurate grade stakes for building pads. Senior General Maintenance Workers perform with minimum supervision as part of a maintenance crew. They may be required to be familiar with the use and maintenance of personal safety climbing accessories. Other functions include planning, estimates and providing guidance or instructions to lesser skilled person.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Reports to a site supervisor and is involved with maintenance/repair of grounds, buildings, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Typical work assignments include visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for and performance of repairs to target areas, facilities and equipment.
  • This position is also required to perform maintenance and test support functions such as set up and monitoring with minimum supervision.
  • Required to lift, pull and carry heavy components.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Overtime will be required.
  • Weekend support will be required.
  • Occasional shift work may be required.
  • May be required to work in extreme weather conditions outside for extended periods.
  • Required to work in direct contact with test personnel and operate industrial equipment such as bulldozers, forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, and other types of similar equipment.
  • May be required to direct and train lower-level technicians in test support operations as well as maintenance functions and provide planning and estimates for testing and maintenance functions.
  • May be required to work in direct contact with test engineers.
  • May perform specialized tasks and use special tools and equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned such as general housekeeping, grounds keeping, vehicle maintenance, environmental safety and security.
  • Will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment.


Job Requirements

OTHER DUTIES : May be required to handle hazardous materials and/or collect hazardous waste. Will require housekeeping duties in assigned work areas and other duties as may be assigned. Require capability of using surveying instrument to set up sled targets as per the sled target drawing by obtaining proper grade, distance and angles. Experience with soil target construction and compaction is HIGHLY DESIRED. Will require the capability of providing information base on the sled target drawing and survey information to target crew, heavy equipment and crane operation for the proper placement of the sled targets. Requires experience with the sled track repair/replacement of sled track alignment hardware which will include surveying, welding/torch cutting and using impact tools. Capable of performing/recording sled target and test item post-test scoring. Reports to the site supervisor and is involved in the maintenance and repair of equipment, grounds, exterior structures, buildings, towers, fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, painting, small engine repair, tower maintenance and other related trades.

Work varies in the combination of trade practices that are performed in different work situations throughout the E-OMS contract. Despite the variety of combinations, two main elements of the job are constant. The work requires the application of more than one trade practice, and the highest level of work is performed in at least two of the trades involved. Performs a variety of tasks involved in the construction and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities, and may be responsible for test setup and support. Typical work assignments include the performance of visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work on a level of difficulty and responsibility of trades. May be required to work in direct contact with test personnel. May be required to operate industrial support equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, bull dozier, excavator, farm tractors, lawn mowers and utility vehicles. Work is performed with minimum supervision as part of a maintenance crew. May be required to be familiar with the use and maintenance of personal safety climbing accessories. Will require experience with sled track operation that include target construction, sled track rail alignment, sled alignments, diverter rail alignments, surveying, crane rigging and signaling, and sled target drawing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Formal training, acquired through vocational certification or military service school training or a certified apprenticeship program, in at least one of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, concrete strength testing, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, small engine repair or painting, and 5 years of combined experience in at least two of the trades mentioned above, of which 3 years has been on the E-OMS contract or, 10 years' experience in at least two of the following disciplines: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, cement work, range controlling, surveying, hydraulics, tower maintenance, or painting, and 3 years of E-OMS KEMTF experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS : This position requires Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. May be required to hold a CDL. Will be required to work outside in hot and cold weather. Respirator qualifications are required in some areas. Experience with sled track operation that include target construction, sled track rail alignment, sled alignments, diverter rail alignments, surveying, crane rigging and signaling, and sled target drawing are HIGHLY DESIRABLE. Candidate must possess the skills to set grade stakes and hubs, ensuring all final elevations match the project plans. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Job functions may also involve working in extreme weather conditions or at heights for extended periods.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, crawl, and work in awkward positions. May require the ability to work at heights.
