Job Description
Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the ORNL in Oak Ridge, TN. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human resource, and employment management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the DOE.

Responsibilities
This position will provide document management and/or record management support services.
- Sorting, organizing, indexing, and preparing record boxes for scanning.
- Maintaining the Master Index for RRD records.
- Identifying and reviewing previously scanned records and locating existing copies within the RRD record database.
- Performing scanning activities in accordance with SBMS guidelines.
- Handling historical documents and long-stored record boxes, which may be dusty or require light cleaning; appropriate precautions and PPE are provided as needed.
- Supporting tasks at an off-site location (OSTI) where RRD records are stored, as needed.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word for indexing and Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet management.
- General computer skills, including navigating databases, organizing electronic files, and entering data accurately.
- Ability to lift record boxes weighing 20-25 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when working with documents that may contain sensitive or protected information.
- Ability to work independently on multiple time-constrained projects and to successfully complete each.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, recordkeeping, and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple levels of management or technical personnel.
Special Requirements:
- Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
