Job Description
Test & Evaluation Analyst (Technical SME)
This role is for a Test and Evaluation Engineer supporting space system testing and experimentation within a Department of Defense environment. The position focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing tests across the full acquisition lifecycle, including developmental, operational, and integrated testing efforts.
• The engineer is responsible for designing and conducting test programs, leveraging modeling and simulation (M&S), hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and statistical methods such as design of experiments to evaluate system performance.
• The role includes developing and reviewing detailed test documentation, analyzing pre-test predictions, defining data collection strategies, and establishing success criteria.
• Candidates will also perform data processing, quality control, and in-depth analysis to assess system effectiveness under realistic operational conditions, while producing reports and presentations based on complex datasets.
• This position requires strong systems thinking, including the ability to decompose complex systems into testable components and align test objectives accordingly.
• It also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure proper data management, execution of test events, and evaluation of results.
• Candidates should be comfortable working with evolving requirements and continuously learning new tools and methodologies.
• Qualified applicants will have a technical degree and several years of experience in systems or test engineering, particularly within space or defense-related programs.
• Expertise in areas such as space communications, sensors, spacecraft systems, cyber, or space operations is highly valued.
• An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• Advanced degrees, extensive experience, and familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, orbital mechanics, and advanced analytical techniques are considered strong advantages.
