Job Summary:

The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the organization's buildings and grounds. This role involves performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Facilities Specialist also coordinates with external vendors and assists with office moves, equipment setups, and general facilities support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor building issues or coordinate with contractors for more complex repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with office moves, space planning, and equipment setup.
• Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate waste management, recycling programs, and janitorial services.
• Support emergency response efforts, including handling power outages, fire alarms, and weather-related incidents.
• Track maintenance activities and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with internal staff and external vendors to address facilities-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors Degree
• Experience:
  • Junior: 0-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance
  • Journeyman: 3-10 years of experience in facilities maintenance
• Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
• Minimum Skills Required:
• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred Skills:
• Certifications in trade specific skills, such as HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
• May be required to respond to emergencies outside of regular work hours.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required depending on operational needs.
