This role applies systems engineering expertise to requirements analysis, system design, technical planning, documentation, and integration of new capabilities into ongoing operations, with emphasis on cloud architecture, AI/ML systems, security, and data lifecycle management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interface with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Experience in systems engineering sufficient to meet one of the stated education/experience pathways.
- Ability to analyze requirements, support system design, and develop technical documentation.
- Ability to support system development, implementation planning, and systems integration and test planning.
- Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and communicate with technical and senior leadership audiences.
- Experience with cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, especially in AWS.
- Experience with AI/ML system design and implementation.
- High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle, including development, training, inference, and monitoring.
- Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps.
- Experience with system security and networking, particularly implementation of system security on classified systems.
- Experience with data engineering and data lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with varied stakeholder groups and the ability to proactively engage them to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon SageMaker.
