Job Title: Network Technician
Location: REMOTE; meaning candidates can sit wherever desired when not traveling
Contract/Perm: Long-term with Insight Global
Rate: $33.65-48.08/hour
Clearance: Secret
SHIFT- DAY M-F- REMOTE
Scope: The program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. This role will lead server engineering to support the discovery analysis and design activities required to migrate common IT services from over twenty large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. Leidos needs the best talent in the industry to accommodate the size, scope, and complexity of this effort. A successful candidate will be technically well-rounded, producing quality work with special attention to the right details.
Day-To-Day:
An employer is looking for a Traveling Secret Network Technician. This candidate will be assisting with large‑scale network discovery and migration efforts. The role requires hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and supporting Aruba wireless access points and Versa devices, along with a solid foundation in routing and switching. Responsibilities include rack and stack, fiber and copper cabling, basic troubleshooting and network testing, interpreting network diagrams, and supporting migration and validation activities in production environments. Technicians will work alongside senior engineers to support network design, integration, optimization, and performance monitoring.
Must Haves:
o Secret Clearance
o IAT level II certification
o Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
o Proficiency with enterprise-class Voice over IP technologies and other IP/transport specific management tools (EMS) and general practices. Expertise in IP technologies, i.e. Networking architectures and methodologies.
Plusses:
o Expert Knowledge of IP principles.
o Proficiency in at least one of the following tools: SolarWinds or Junos Space.
