Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the senior analyst providing expertise in the planning, organizing and executing of analytical projects for The Inspector General as assigned to the Air Force Inspection Agency (AFIA), Enterprise Support Directorate (ET), Analysis Division.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes expert level knowledge of a wide range of advanced concepts, principles and practices in accomplishing qualitative and quantitative assessment in the Nuclear and conventional munitions career field; experience in the aggregation of large volumes of data from IG, Budget, Manpower and Readiness databases; and building policy level assessments of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Squadron, Wing and Command; expert knowledge of Operational Risk Management and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

DUTIES:
- Performs a broad range of complex and controversial qualitative and quantitative assessments of programs, policies and issues, which have major impact on Air Force policy, readiness, effectiveness and efficiency, these products facilitate the identification and determination of alternative ways to accomplish various missions across the Air Force's Major Commands
- Using knowledge of the IG enterprise, analytical expertise, continuous process improvement (CPI) and staff expertise, prepares position papers and presents high level briefings
- Performs Air Force inspections in Field Operating Agencies and Direct Reporting Units and augments the Oversight Team on inspections of conventional and nuclear capable units
- Represents Air Force Inspection Agency with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
- Maintains continuous liaison with Headquarters Air Force, Secretary of Air Force and other headquarters staff offices to ensure inspection activities and planning is consistent and integrated throughout the IG community
- Executes the operation and management of Self-Assessment, Exercise, Inspection, Security and Training programs for the Directorate and as necessary for the Agency

- Knowledge of military service program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.
- Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues, and maintain good working relations. Ability to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships.
- Knowledge in all major functional areas of the Air Force Inspection System to include Unit Effectiveness Inspections, Commander's Inspection Program, Management Inspections and data analysis used to provide senior leaders data-driven recommendations for improvement.
