Network Engineer Lead
Location: Ft Belvoir
Work Type: Remote

Gridiron IT is looking for personnel to support a U.S. Army information technology infrastructure program. The project includes conducting survey and design, engineer, furnish, install, secure, and test (EFIS&T) solutions to include non-secure internet protocol router (NIPR), secure internet protocol router (SIPR), Wi-Fi, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), and Voice Modernization at U.S. Army Base/Post/Camp/Station (B/P/C/S) across the Continental United States (CONUS).
Responsibilities
Develops a system engineering plan and methods to modernize, upgrade, and enhance capabilities over the life cycle of the project.
Provide engineering support activities to include, but are not limited to, developing an engineering installation plan (EIP) and solution for implementation of the COMPMOD capabilities to include NIPR, SIPR, Foundational WI-FI, VMOD, MCFA, OSP, ISP, ISN, and AET.
Provides the fielding engineers all the necessary information required to perform the implementation action to include at a minimum: “as-is” and “to-be” physical and logical network architecture, integration Plan, Cyber Security artifacts: Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklist, internetwork operating systems versions, Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), list of hardware and software, etc., test plan(s), data connectivity plan, implementation plan, transition/migration plan, and installation team checklists.
Conduct systems engineering efforts from concept development through final design for the COMPMOD Capabilities GENM-A and DoD guides, regulations, and policies to meet or exceed the Government’s requirements.
Utilize U.S. Army engineering processes during the development of all submissions; identify additional processes and documentation formats, as necessary.
Submit site-specific reports and drawings to the Government for review and approval. Adhere to the Government’s established process for reviewing, updating, approving, and disseminating EIP throughout its lifecycle and versioning from inception.
Recommends resolution of issues for program milestone decisions.
Prepares, reviews, and delivers required reports and plans.
Provides project support for reviews, conferences, briefings, and associated meetings.
Conduct analysis, identify “as-is” and “to-be” processes, collect relevant data, information, and documentation to formulate and implement a solution or recommendation for each capability.
Conduct feasibility study to enable Government decisions as it relates to the design options within the scope of these analyses; studies shall include a case for action, analysis-of-alternatives, functional analysis, technical solutions, risk analysis, and economic analysis including a Rough Order of Magnitude and costs for comparing options.
Requirements
Required Experience / Qualifications (Must Have)
Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI Eligibility
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field IT, engineering, or technical field. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience as a Lead Engineer or leading projects of similar scope
Certification: DoD 8570 IAT III
Certification: At Least one of the following: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert or Cisco Certified Design Expert, or Government-Approved vendor equivalent will be considered.
Must be available during core hours (0900-1500) and available onsite at Fort Belvoir, as requested.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to regularly lift at least 25 pounds.
Ability to commute to the designated onsite work location as required.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Supported the U.S. Army or other Federal Agency.
Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
DevOps certification from Cisco, Microsoft, or an industry recognized leader in DevOps.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Requires Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $130,000-$165,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
