Job Description

Duties

  • Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive Force Protection, Antiterrorism, and Emergency Management programs to ensure the safety and security of all personnel, facilities, and assets.
  • Act as the authoritative source on Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-TUAS), developing and refining plans and procedures to defend against emerging aerial threats.
  • Conduct continuous risk and vulnerability assessments of the installation, identify threats, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership to mitigate Force Protection risks.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the command's Insider Threat program, conducting analysis and developing reports to detect and deter internal threats.
  • Serve as the installation's point of contact (POC) for external evaluations, and provide briefings to VIPs and senior leaders regarding Force Protection, contingency, and emergency response.

  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • Must be able to wear a protective mask and helmet, body armor, Level A/B CHEMBIO protection, gloves, and other personnel protection equipment.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall for security program and emergency response duties. This includes potential weekend/night tours of duty and remaining on post during emergencies until relieved.
  • Must be trained and physically capable of responding as a team member on the installation Hazardous Materials Team during crisis management operations
  • Incumbent is required to have a physical examination and possess physical abilities in agility, dexterity and strength. Simulated training activities have same physical requirements. Normal ranges of hearing and sight are therefore required.
  • Subject to random urinalysis testing IAW approved DA guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 25% of the time may be required.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
  • One year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Developing, coordinating, and/or maintaining security programs and contingency plans in areas such as Force Protection, Anti-Terrorism, or Emergency Management; (2) Conducting security-related risk, vulnerability, or criticality assessments and providing actionable recommendations; (3) Planning, preparing, or executing budget requirements for security or emergency management programs; AND (4) Analyzing threats and providing guidance or training to personnel on security topics (such as Insider Threat, Foreign Travel, or Anti-Terrorism).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice or Security Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
