Overview
We are seeking a Secret‑cleared DevSecOps Engineer to support advanced subsystem development, testing, and validation in a cloud‑based, containerized environment. This role is fully onsite in Manassas, VA and supports mission‑critical systems requiring deep expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and secure cloud architecture.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on development skills, experience modernizing legacy systems, and a security‑first mindset within DevSecOps pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Support Subsystem Testability and Validation within a Common Computing Environment (CCE), including:
Linux‑based software development
Software test development and test automation
Cloud environment engineering using Kubernetes
Lead Kubernetes resource management and cloud architecture development, including:
Writing Kubernetes controllers
Developing and refactoring legacy applications (primarily C++ and Java) into a Microservices Architecture
Designing and implementing Kubernetes‑based system architectures
Support Storage Architecture initiatives, including:
Software‑defined storage development
Kubernetes and Linux software development
Network engineering and performance analysis
Hardware evaluation, throughput testing, and performance benchmarking
Perform Model‑Based Configuration (MBC) activities, including:
MBSE using Cameo
SysML/UML model development
System services configuration generation
Java and scripting development to support model‑driven configurations
Engineer and evaluate Container Network Interface (CNI) solutions, including:
Kubernetes CNI integrations
Network throughput and performance analysis
Cyber and security evaluation of container networking solutions
Support GitLab migration and DevSecOps CI/CD development, including:
GitLab server configuration
GitRunner integration
Design and enhancement of secure CI/CD pipelines
DevSecOps pipeline architecture and automation
Required Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance
Strong experience in Linux‑based software development
Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud system architecture
Proficiency in C++ and/or Java, including refactoring legacy systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
Familiarity with secure system design, performance evaluation, and system testing
Ability to work 100% onsite in Manassas, VA
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CNI technologies and container networking
Experience with software‑defined storage solutions
Familiarity with MBSE tools, especially Cameo and SysML/UML
Experience supporting DoD or mission‑critical systems
Background working in classified or security‑focused environments
