Job Description
Must Haves:
• Python – networking side to configure satellite
• Java – System that follows the satellite
• Experience working in agile / scrum environment
• Bachelor’s degree flex with YOE
Preferred Qualifications:
• Pearl – being able to plan out how satellites will be used
• C++
• MatLab
Day to Day:
This role involves independently designing, developing, and optimizing Python and Java software in support of Space Development Agency mission systems. The engineer works day to day in a Linux‑based environment, using the command line and bash scripting to support development, builds, and troubleshooting, while contributing code that is scalable, performant, and well tested. They operate within an Agile/Scrum framework, collaborating with cross‑functional engineering, testing, and operations teams to plan and execute software releases, track work in Atlassian tools, and follow established change control and risk management processes. Regular responsibilities also include maintaining documentation, supporting briefings, and responding to stakeholder questions related to assigned systems and features.
Compensation: $50 - $60/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
