Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers.
What You Will Do
We are currently hiring a Tomahawk Portfolio Flight Test Lead responsible for the shipboard and ground testing of the Tomahawk Portfolio for 6 different sub-programs. This leader will develop, maintain and ensure the flight test strategy is optimized to meet program end-goal objectives. The role requires critical interaction/event planning with the Chief Engineers, software team and system integration and test team with a focus on test processes, embedded test, factory operations, and other functions.
This person will lead a team of five engineers managing Tomahawk flight test missile builds and supporting field and flight test events. This role will coordinate frequently and directly with your government counterparts to status/coordinate missile builds and flight test support. This will require working with program Operations to arrange missile builds and will work across engineering functions to determine the appropriate missile configurations, document missile builds, verify missile test results and support the customer configuration and test preparedness reviews. This person will generate basis of estimates in support of proposal efforts and may negotiate directly with the customer counterparts.
The person fulfilling this role will also be working closely with the Test Architects on the Tomahawk portfolio and thus must be experienced in surface launched testing. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Performing integration, verification, and testing to ensure the system under test performs according to design, specs and/or requirements
- Performing data collection activities, including review and assessment of data elements, and provide detailed reports of results
- Tracing and/or correcting faults in mechanical or electronic systems. Familiarity with failure reporting, analysis, corrective action and/or fault tree analysis
- Creating/modifying documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages
- Supporting field testing for land and shipboard testing
- Generate variance data packages and take to board (ERB/CCB)
- Monitor / manage upcoming tasks; assign resources (working knowledge on MS Project)
- Collaborate actively and attend weekly meetings to provide status, needs
- Communicating weekly with customer counterparts to status and coordinate missile builds and test events.
- Leading a team of five engineers.
- Coordinating across engineering functions to support missile builds, test support and data analysis.
- Preparing bids and other work to support flight and field test events
- This position requires domestic and international travel
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of Ten (10) years of prior relevant experience.
- An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
- Platform Integration and/or Flight Test experience
- Experience supporting field tests, or systems deployed in the field
- Experience in managing cost and schedule using Earned Value Management systems
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working with customers to develop program integration and test strategies
- Experience in the operation and use of telemetry acquisition systems
- Experience with flight termination systems
- Technician experience working on military platforms, such as Fixed Wing, Rotary Wing, Ground Based, and ship-based platforms
- Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platforms.
- Experience managing and presenting technical data to Stakeholders and Customer community, in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
- Technical leadership with capture/pursuit experience, including contribution or authoring of white papers, RFI responses, proposal of technical volumes, or related experience
- Experience with RF spectral and temporal effects for sensor and backgrounds, including clutter, multipath, self-interference, grounding and shielding, and mitigation factors.
- Experience in integrating RF/EO sensor output, either modulated waveforms or streams of digital samples used for real-time representation of RF/EO scenes data collection / analysis (including Telemetry)
- Test Systems design experience and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, and computer engineering.
- Experience in RF/EO integration of hardware systems with high level of understanding of digital signal processing algorithms, advanced waveforms, antenna patterns, and techniques used in resource-constrained missile systems.
- CAMEO experience
- Tomahawk JMEWS, AGR5 MCode, FCEU Redesign, MRSS Redesign, CLS Production Restart and GEU-R Redesign program elements
