Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing a safety and/or occupational health program, experience working with high level managers in crime prevention and physical security, experience writing/reviewing policy and guidelines, and experience developing goals for safety and/or occupational health programs or similar organizations.

- Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of installation physical security plans and survey reports for compliance with existing policies and procedures.
- Provides technical review for new physical security systems and reviews major construction and renovation projects to ensure physical security requirements are met.
- Performs the following representative supervisory duties: makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates; evaluates subordinates; makes selections for subordinate positions.
- Collects and analyzes the physical security requirements for the security of personnel, critical facilities, classified information, equipment, and other mission essential/vulnerable activities (MEVA), high risk targets (HRT), and restricted areas.
- Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of Garrison AT/FP plans to provide input for required changes and enhancements.
- Performs staff visits to garrison activities, providing guidance on policy and ensuring the objectives of the installation physical security program are met.
Conditions of employment
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- This position requires a valid U.S. drivers license.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD certification within their first two years of employment [Security Fundamentals Professional Certification].
- This position is designated Tier 5, Critical or Non-Critical Sensitive, High Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
- This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
