Job Description

Duties

  • Responsibile for planning, reviewing and analyzing the work of government personnel including trainees, engineering technicians and work leaders in grades up to GS-12.
  • Provide technical oversight and evaluates work performed by mission support contractors.
  • Study and analyze work operations and makes changes in workflow, methods, priorities, etc., to assure timely accomplishment of assigned workload among the Armaments Branch
  • Provide administrative and technical direction to subordinates providing direction and control over the day-to-day branch operations and support to remote test ranges
  • Consult with and advises engineers, project managers and test director personnel on the practicability and feasibility of proposed test plans and implementation of desired projects.

  • This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 5% of the time.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver''s license, and any installation, DOD and/or Federal license or certification required for vehicle operated.
  • Must meet the requirements of the Lautenberg amendment which reads as follows: Due to access of firearms, Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • ATEC uses salary control points within the salary range to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $138,370 (with locality).
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENT: .One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NJ-03/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: 1.) Proven expertise in artillery and mortar systems, including munitions and support equipment, 2.) Skilled in managing, scheduling and tracking daily operations and requirements. 3.) Experience in reporting on operational status and key performance indicators. 4.) Adept at developing and implementing standardized procedures for mission safety and success. and 5.) Experience in armament testing safety, including program management and system expertise.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
