As a Software Engineer Level 3 at CyberPoint, you will lead the design, development and evolution of complex software systems supporting mission-critical operations. You'll work across a range of problem spaces - from large-scale data processing and analytics to real-time systems and enterprise applications - while driving technical direction and ensuring high-quality delivery.
This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership across multiple development teams and the ability to influence system design decisions including architecture, technology selection, and development methodologies. You'll collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware engineers and mission stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development and enhancement of complex software systems (eg analytics platforms, real-time systems, large-scale data processing)
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Architect and implement scalable front-end and back-end solutions
- Develop and optimize algorithms to meet strict performance, timing and system constraints
- Provide technical leadership across multiple software development teams
- Oversee software development efforts to ensure alignment with project constraints and delivery timelines
- Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to define requirements, interfaces and system capabilities
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools and development processes
- Support system design decisions including COTS/GOTS integration, reuse strategies and architecture trade-offs
- Review, test and validate software components to ensure adherence to design and quality standards
- Ensure quality control across all developed and modified software
- Guide teams in debugging, performance tuning and system optimization
- Coordinate software system integration, deployment and operational validation
- Produce and review technical documentation and reports
- Mentor developers and delegate programming and testing responsibilities across teams
What You'll Need
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI+FSP Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- OR Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a degree
- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs of similar scope and complexity
- Front-end development expertise with 10+ years of experience in:
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- React
- Java
- Spring Framework
- Experience designing and developing complex, large-scale software systems
- Strong experience with system architecture, performance optimization and algorithm development
- Experience leading multiple development teams and large software efforts
- Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ
- Experience with application server administration (eg Tomcat)
- Strong background in modern DevOps practices and scalable system design
- Experience selecting and implementing software development methodologies
- Proven ability to drive innovation and improve engineering processes across teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical direction at senior levels
