Position Location

This regular full-time position will be located onsite at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama.

Job Overview

The Supply Technician - Receiving and Delivery-Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLADS) performs various aspects of supply management to include inventory, storage management, item identity verification, and property utilization. Work is segregated by function and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. In addition, this position performs multiple tasks, including proper warehousing and storage techniques, delivering property to customers, and utilizing Asset Management Hardware/Software. The DLADS Supply Technician is required to determine/initiate workload priorities and successfully communicate those to co-workers and supervisors, as necessary. Operation involves use of forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and light trucks to perform warehouse duties.

This role is full time onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery Alabama.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive. DOD and AF Supply Policies and Directives and established Statement of Work direct specific responsibilities.
  • Forklift and other Material Handling Equipment MHE operations.
  • Follows oral and written instructions to determine work assignments.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and trucks by hand or using appropriate MHE.
  • Installs strapping, metal banding, bracing, shrink wrap, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Deliver property to the Maxwell/Gunter community.
  • Perform weapons custodian duties and responsibilities.
  • Research items waiting transfer to the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services DLADS to identify and validate identity with the Air Force cataloging system.
  • Prepare turn-in documentation for property waiting transfer to DLADS.
  • Prepare paperwork and process transfers to DLADS.
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation for items to be delivered to various DLADS locations, as directed by the Defense Logistics Agency DLA Disposition Services.
  • Maintain safety in an industrial warehouse environment.
  • Respond to customer needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain courteous, professional relationships with co-workers and the Maxwell/Gunter community.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Material Management, or Warehousing. Air Force or military warehousing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Air Force Supply policy and procedures and experience with Integrated Logistics System Supply (ILS-S) & Electronic Turn-In Documents for Distribution Services (ETIDS).
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification. Current certification and experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to organize clear thoughts and communicate verbally and in writing to various levels of authority.
  • Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Warehouse environment: must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time. Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds. Stand and sit for extended periods, walk, drive, kneel, squat, bend, crawl, stoop, reach, climb ladders push and pull heavy loads with pallet jacks or hand trucks.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizen.
