The Tactical Radars and Effectors department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering supports the development, production, and deployment of multiple defense products including radars, missiles, command and control systems, and naval electronics. The products support US Government and international customers.
This position is on site in Marlborough, MA and may require domestic and international travel to suppliers, Raytheon facilities, and customer sites. This position will be an onsite role.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do
- Use mechanical and electrical flow down to design, select components, and route cables using CREO to verify cable path, volume capture, lengths, and interfaces
- Use mechanical and electrical information to develop interconnections sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate conceptual designs and drawings in tools such as CREO, AutoCAD, and Windchill. Development and review of schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable assembly drawings and associated component control drawings
- Work with supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals. Work with guided direction or supervision, while exercising limited latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment
- Represent the Mechanical Engineering organization as a technical contact for cable & harness interconnect design
- Interact with multiple disciplines and representatives on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations and suppliers
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
- Prior experience in Interconnects design
- Experience with Creo or similar, PTC Windchill Product Data Management (PDM), Technical Data Package releases and/or CN/CR and IR's
- Hands-on experience of concept definition through detailed design and transition manufacturing within interconnect domain, including interconnect manufacturing and field troubleshooting
Qualifications We Prefer
- Working knowledge of interconnect component parts, their application, and major suppliers for interconnection components industry including connectors, backshells and wires.
- Demonstrated knowledge of component military specifications, codes, standards, test specifications and associated QPLs and QMLs associated with connectors, coaxial cables, multi-conductor cables, interconnection cable & wire and fiber-optic cables
- Effective communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Frequent technical contact with the customer and senior personnel inclusive of requirements, IRAD, future technical needs, etc.
- Detailed experience using AutoCAD, CREO, CREO Routing, and CREO Schematic
- Adaptability and willingness to work varying and multiple assignments concurrently
- Ability to lead teams to solve complex challenges, summarize concisely and present to leadership
- Prototype and rapid hardware program development build and mechanical assembly experience
- Willingness for minimal travel (domestic and international)
