BOMBER OPERATIONAL LEAD

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Bomber Operational Lead serves as a critical subject matter expert supporting the integration and operational standup of the B-21 Raider program, bridging host base activities with HQ Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) across all functional areas, including Formal Training Unit operations, Operations and Operations Support Squadron functions, and simulator development. In this role, the selected candidate will advise on and coordinate Conventional and Nuclear operations, training requirements, and Technical Order and Department of the Air Force Instructions compliance across multiple agencies and higher headquarters. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance and bring a minimum of five years of qualified bomber aircrew experience in the B-1B, B-2A, or B-52H, along with graduation from a formal USAF Flight Instructor Course. Highly desired qualifications include Nuclear Bomber Electronic Warfare Officer experience, USAF Safety and/or Nuclear Surety background, Personnel Reliability Program/Assurance Program management, Component Command or higher-level staff experience, aircraft maintenance familiarity, and a minimum of 18 months of Special Access Program experience. This position is ideal for a seasoned aviator and operational leader ready to shape the future of strategic bomber operations at the forefront of next-generation airpower integration.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support integration of all aspects of the B-21 Raider between host base and HQ AFGSC, including but not limited to: Formal Training Unit operations, Operations Squadron, Operations Support Squadron functions, Simulator operations development and coordination.

  • Support integration of Technical Order and Department of the Air Force Instructions compliance between host wing, HQ AFGSC, and other outside agencies, as required.

  • Coordinate, implement, advise, and support Conventional and Nuclear operations and training requirements, systems, and timelines in accordance with Higher Headquarters requirements.

  • Highly desired United States Air Force (USAF) Safety and/or Nuclear Surety experience.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Minimum of five (5) years of USAF B-1B or B-2A or B-52H qualified bomber aircrew experience.

  • Minimum Graduate of Formal Instructor Course, Central Flight Instructor Course, or equivalent USAF Flight Instructor Course in any USAF MWS.

  • Highly Desired Nuclear Bomber Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) experience.

  • USAF aircraft maintenance (any) experience highly desired.

  • USAF Personnel Reliability Program/Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRP/PRAP) Manager experience highly desired.

  • Component Command (or equivalent) or higher-level experience highly desired.

  • Minimum 18 months SAP experience preferred.
