The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Navy supply/logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience and expertise in afloat material and inventory management and the use of Relational Supply (R-Supply) and other DoD/DoN logistics applications. This position is based at COMNAVSURLANT, in Norfolk, VA and supports the COMNAVSURFLANT N41 staff and all subordinate units/commands.
Responsibilities:
The SME will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive material management oversight of surface warships. The role requires direct coordination with afloat units, training commands, maintenance activities, and inventory control points to ensure the material readiness of the fleet. The SME analyzes and assists in managing several complex, interrelated logistics programs and provides training and assistance to maximize Fleet readiness, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

The role requires direct coordination with afloat units, training commands, maintenance activities, and inventory control points to ensure the material readiness of the fleet. The SME analyzes and assists in managing several complex, interrelated logistics programs and provides training and assistance to maximize Fleet readiness, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Monitors and analyzes fleet-wide DLR requisitions for policy compliance. Proactively tracks and manages the turn-in of Not Ready for Issue (NRFI) DLR carcasses to protect ships' operating funds. Manages the tracking of all Remain-in-Place (RIP) DLRs, working directly with afloat units to resolve carcass tracking queries and billing discrepancies.
- Utilizes OMMS-NG and other systems to monitor and manage Maintenance Assist Module (MAM) allowances. Conducts quality assurance reviews of the XMAM process.
- Ensures applicable DLRs are properly screened, in accordance with Miniature/Micro-Miniature Module Test and Repair (2M/MTR) program, by ship's 2M work centers prior to depot turn-in, as required by NAVSUP P-485, and provides guidance to supported units.
- Provides oversight and guidance to afloat units on stock control procedures, including the management of ship's allowance lists (COSAL, APLs) to ensure material availability meets operational requirements.
- Coordinates with deploying assets and Inventory Control Points (ICPs) to plan and validate forward-deployed load lists. Manages and coordinates Cargo Information Routing Files to ensure efficient delivery of material to deployed units.
- Monitors high-priority requisitions, including those for Casualty Reports (CASREP), and takes action to expedite the delivery of mission-critical repair parts. Serves as a primary liaison between ships, supply sources, and transportation providers to resolve logistics issues
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Current SECRET Clearance is required
- Twelve (12) years of experience in R-Supply, Inventory Management, Financial Management, and the functionality of Naval Supply
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, management or related business discipline is desired. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional eight (8) years of experience in supply, inventory management, financial management and the functionality of R-Supply is acceptable
- In-depth knowledge of a wide range of Naval supply regulations, policies and procedures and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments. Some of these policies and procedures include but are not limited to the Operational Forces Supply Procedures NAVSUP P-485 and the Surface Force Supply Procedures Manual 4400.1 series
- Extensive experience with R-Supply, OMMS-NG, One Touch Support, and Electronic Retrograde Management System (ERMS)
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Proficiency in other Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Word, Power Point)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Desired:
- The ideal candidate would bring senior level Navy Logistics Specialist expertise with extensive stock control experience using R-Supply, with tours on LHA/Ds, CVNs, CGs, or DDGs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively prepare and deliver briefings, as well as conduct both individual and seminar-style training sessions.
