ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking a Travel Specialist to support the FAA's Radar System Replacement (RSR) program, the largest and most significant radar modernization effort within the National Airspace System (NAS).
Work location: Remote ( prefer local to the DC metro area )
Clearance: Public Trust
Summary: This role is central to ensuring field personnel can mobilize quickly and efficiently to FAA sites across the country without administrative delays. The Travel Specialist will be responsible for booking, modifying, and managing all travel arrangements while ensuring compliance with company policy and contract requirements. In addition, this individual will own the end-to-end expense reporting process following each trip, ensuring timely, accurate reconciliation in accordance with program and finance requirements.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book all travel arrangements for Engineering and Installation teams supporting RSR site deployments, including airfare, lodging, rental vehicles, and other logistical needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field personnel regarding travel logistics and support needs. Manage frequent travel changes, cancellations, and re-bookings driven by dynamic site schedules and field conditions.
- Complete and submit expense reports in Concur on behalf of field personnel following completed trips.
- Support development and maintenance of Smartsheet trackers to manage travel schedules, deployment timelines, and resource coordination across RSR sites.
- Maintain and organize program documentation within SharePoint, including travel records, expense documentation, and supporting artifacts to ensure audit readiness and version control.
- Assist the Program Management Office (PMO) in data tracking and reporting, ensuring alignment between travel activities and site execution schedules.
- Develop and maintain basic dashboards and visual reports (Excel, Smartsheet, or similar tools) to provide visibility into travel spend, deployment status, and resource utilization.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline data workflows, reporting, and document management processes.
- Ensure all travel arrangements comply with company travel policy, contract requirements, and cost control expectations.
- Support continuous improvement of travel and expense processes to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
- Assist with logistical coordination such as shipping small tools/materials, rental equipment coordination, or other field support needs as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of work experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), including ability to organize data, track metrics, and support basic reporting functions.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage receipts, documentation, and expense reconciliation accurately.
- Strong communication skills and responsiveness to time-sensitive requests.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-moving program environment.
- US Citizenship to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting FAA programs, federal contracts, or infrastructure deployment programs.
- Proficiency with Smartsheet (preferred) for tracking schedules, resources, or workflows.
- Experience with SharePoint or similar platforms for document management and collaboration.
- Ability to create basic dashboards or data visualizations (Excel, Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with travel compliance requirements under government contracts.
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, or installation teams.
- Prior experience working within a PMO or program support structure.
