Responsibilities
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience operating and maintaining Unmanned Systems (UxS)to include ground, aerial, and maritime systems.
- Hold current certification for UxS operation and maintenance, including FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification or equivalent military certification.
- Possess extensive knowledge of UxS employment in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions, including reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisitions, and force protection.
- Understand operating requirements for unmanned systems in spectrum-contested environments and be capable of mitigating Electronic Warfare (EW) interference.
- Must possess and be able to maintain an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) Clearance to facilitate integration of classified UxS capabilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing UxS systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Demonstrate proficiency in piloting both rotary and fixed wing aerial platforms, to include acromode First Person View (FPV) unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
- Demonstrate capability to arm UxS to deliver kinetic.
- Provide instruction for 5th SFG (A) new equipment training (NET) and sustainment training courses and assist with supplementary training covering but not limited to Radio Frequency Theory, Airspace management, piloting Group 1 rotary and fixed.
- UAS, build and program FPV Group 1 UAS, additive manufacturing, range extension via relay and mothership operations, weaponeering (arming UxS), and direct-action integration.
- Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of UxS-supported training events, including reconnaissance, surveillance, and targe acquisitions scenarios.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ODAs and other training elements on the tactical employment of UxS during training exercises.
- Facilitate UxS usage during collective training events, such a Pre-Mission Training (PMT), Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) and Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations.
- Assist with the development and revisions of Programs of Instruction (POI) to incorporate emerging UxS capabilities
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance of all UxS platforms and associated equipment including ground control stations, sensors, batteries and communication
- Ensure all UxS systems are properly stored, secured and accounted for in accordance with Fort Campbell, United States Army, and United States Army Special Forces Command (USASOC) and 1st Special Forces Command (1st SFC) regulations.
- Conducts monthly inventories of all UxS equipment and provide detailed reports to appropriate government officials, including recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
- Maintain accurate hand receipts for all UxS systems and assist with key and lock control for storage facilities.
- Coordinate with Fort Campbell Range Control and other DoD Range Controls to ensure UxS operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all applicable
- Provide recommendations to the chain of command on UxS employment strategies, equipment shortcomings, and training area requirements.
- Conduct research on emerging UxS technologies and techniques to support force modernization efforts.
- Provide recommendations to appropriate Government personnel for new UxS systems and capabilities to enhance training effectiveness.
- Interface with S-8/G-8 sections and private vendors to evaluate lessons learned and integrate new technologies into training programs.
- Assist ODAs in testing and fielding UxS systems during training events, including coordination with interagency and foreign partners.
- Provide UxS operator training to ODAs and other personnel, including instruction on system operations, troubleshooting, and tactical employ
- Support all UxS related training outside of Fort Campbell, KY, as needed, including coordination, planning, transportation of equipment and travel.
- Provide detailed reports to appropriate government officials on UxS usage maintenance, and training integration, including recommendations.
- Coordinate with appropriate Government officials to ensure compliance with all safety and operational guidelines during UxS supported training events.
Qualifications
